Tecno has revealed the Camon 30 Premier 5G, scheduled for release in Q2 of this year. The unveiling emphasized numerous features, notably the innovative Tecno PolarAce Imaging System. Unlike a traditional sensor, this system centers around the Sony chip CXD5622GG, boasting a remarkable 4.6 TFLOPS at FP16. This computational prowess facilitates various tasks, such as full-scene AI noise reduction for HDR videos and 4K Ultra Night Vision videos, marking an industry first. Additionally, the dedicated ISP showcases superior power efficiency, especially evident during 4K 30fps video processing, thanks to the Universal Tone AI solution for rendering accurate skin tones. Notably, the AIGC Portrait mode offers versatile modifications to portrait shots, including attire adjustments with AI One Click Eraser seamlessly removing unwanted objects. The Camon Premier 5G integrates a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS, alongside a 70mm periscope equipped with a 50MP sensor for zoom capabilities up to 60x hybrid zoom, portrait photography, and macro shots.
The device’s design takes inspiration from rangefinder cameras, featuring a circular camera island resembling a zoom ring, complemented by a quad-LED flash. On the front, a 6.77″ OLED LTPO display delivers stunning visuals with a peak brightness of 1,400nits, while the 50MP selfie camera ensures sharp and focused self-portraits. Crafted with a metal mid-frame for durability and premium aesthetics, the Premier incorporates unique elements like the “Action Dot,” serving as a multifunctional indicator for video recording, charging status, and voice assistant activation. Powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 70W fast charging via USB-C, the device offers extensive connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IR blaster, and FM radio receiver. Despite lacking a 3.5mm headphone jack, the device boasts stereo speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos. Under the hood, the Camon Premier operates on the Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset, preloaded with Android 14. Paired with up to 12GB of RAM (expandable with virtual RAM) and up to 512GB storage, it promises seamless performance. Anticipated for release in Q2 alongside other models in the Camon 30 series, the Premier sets a new standard in its class for mobile photography and performance.
